Dear LP Families,
As we look ahead to the coming summer, I’m excited to share some wonderful news about the improvements that will soon be taking shape here at LP. Thanks to our district’s Capital Improvement Project, our school will experience a season of transformation—one that will bring fresh energy, modern upgrades, and meaningful enhancements to the spaces our students use every day.
Although construction dates may shift, the work is tentatively planned for end of June through mid‑September. I’d like to give you a sense of what’s ahead, especially the changes that will have the biggest impact on our students and families.
❄️ Air Conditioning on the 3rd Floor
Our 3rd‑floor classrooms will receive full air conditioning for the first time! Students and staff will return to bright, cool, and comfortable learning spaces thanks to:
New air conditioning units
Brand‑new ceilings
Energy‑efficient LED lighting throughout
New flooring and cabinets in the classrooms
🏀 Complete Gymnasium Transformation (see picture below!)
Our gym will undergo a full renovation, giving students an entirely refreshed space for PE, assemblies, and indoor events. This is one of the most exciting upgrades, and we can’t wait for students to experience it next school year! This includes:
New flooring
Updated wall mats and fresh paint
New basketball hoops and a new dividing partition
New exterior doors
Air conditioning added to the gym for year‑round comfort
🌳 Outdoor Enhancements- Playground Safety Improvements
Decorative boulders will be added around the playground perimeter to create an attractive and effective barrier from nearby traffic.
Looking Ahead: Gym Asbestos Abatement During Spring Break
As shared in an earlier message, a small, targeted asbestos abatement project will take place in the gymnasium during Spring Break while students are out of the building. This work is limited in scope, fully regulated, and scheduled specifically to avoid instructional disruptions. Before students return, rigorous clearance testing (TEM) will confirm the gym is safe for use.
We are truly excited for the ways these improvements will enhance comfort, safety, learning, and play for our students. We appreciate your continued trust as we work to provide the very best environment for every child at Laurelton‑Pardee.
If you have questions at any point, please reach out to the LP Main Office—we are always happy to help.
Warm regards,
Dr. Bello
