Dear LP Families,
Welcome to December! As we enter this season of reflection and connection, we are excited to continue building a strong partnership between home and school. Your involvement is essential to creating a thriving learning community for our students.
Our Site-Based Team is exploring an opportunity to engage families in a meaningful conversation around the book The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. This powerful work examines how the rise of smartphones and social media has reshaped childhood, contributing to increased anxiety, depression, and attention challenges among kids. Haidt highlights two major shifts—the decline of free, unsupervised play and the explosion of “phone-based childhood”—and offers practical strategies for restoring balance and fostering independence.
We believe this topic is critical for supporting the well-being of our children, and we would love to hear your thoughts. Please take 3–4 minutes to complete this short survey to help us gauge interest in participating in a book study and discussion series. Your feedback will guide us in planning resources and conversations that matter most to you.
