Dear LP Families,
We have spent the last three days getting to know your children, build positive relationships, and learn school routines/expectations. I am so pleased with how quickly the kids are acclimating back to school. I know we are all exhausted, but the effort is worth it!
I need your help! Our dismissal routine is getting better every day, however it would help us even more if you communicate with the main office if you are going to be picking your child up from school. You can either send in a note to school or call the main office. Our process goes pretty quickly when we have this info in advance. Thank you!
Last note, September is Attendance Awareness Month. Our district and building focus this year is to improve the number of students consistently coming to school. Below you will see some facts as it relates to students being in school. This is not an issue specific only to East Irondequoit. I just attended a webinar yesterday on attendance and learned that 1/3 of the students in the United States (15 million students) are considered chronically absent. This means they miss 10 or more days of school a year. We want our students to be here; we know this can have a huge impact on their success in life. Please reach out to us if we can help in anyway.
Enjoy the weekend,
Dr. Bello
