Dear LP Families,
Next week is a big week for our students and staff! Our book fair officially begins this Monday, September 23rd and will run through the week. There are three ways you can purchase books: students can bring money to school, you can buy books online (link is below!), or feel free to stop into the library during open house.
Speaking of Open House, we are excited to welcome families to the building Thursday, September 26th. Our PTA will be hosting a pizza picnic at 5:30pm. Join us in the LP cafeteria for some pizza and fun. Starting at 6:00pm, we will allow families to visit classrooms, meet teachers, tour the building, and of course stop in the book fair. Around 6:30pm, any families wanting to attend the Beginner Instrument Meeting with Mr. Savine can head to the gym for his presentation. The night will wrap up around 7:00pm. This is always a great event and I hope you will be able to join us!
In addition to all of the fun above, our 'Homecoming Spirit Week' will take place 9/23 through 9/27. Please check out the flyer below to see the theme for each day. We can't wait to see students and staff show their school spirit. Families are also invited to join us Saturday, 9/28 at 10:30am to walk in the Homecoming parade as a school. The more the merrier! We will meet in the transportation parking lot off Kane Drive. Students can wear their new school shirts!
If that isn't enough fun, I am super excited to announce our Drama Club will soon be underway. Mrs. Miller and Ms. Coleman have backpacked letters home with all students about the upcoming parent meeting on 9/30 at 6:30pm. I included the letter below for your reference. Any student who is interested in joining drama club will need a family member to attend this meeting. Please send any questions to our club directors.
Finally, as we continue Attendance Awareness Month I hope you will read the latest fact about the impact of attendance on our students. As always, if you need any support please call myself, Ms. McAllister (school counselor), or Mrs. Catalfano (school social worker.
I hope you have a great weekend!
Dr. Bello
