Dear LP Families,
This year, we’re excited to launch a new Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program called PurposeFull People through CharacterStrong. This program helps students build important life skills in a safe, inclusive environment where they feel connected and supported. This truly is a partnership between school and home to help every child thrive. Each month, we’ll share updates, conversation starters, and fun activities you can try at home to support your child’s growth.
To get started, please check out the video and letters below to see what we have been up to in the month of September. Also, a reminder that we have homecoming activities taking place all next week, culminating with a whole district parade on Saturday, 10/4. We hope you can join us! More info below!

Free Concert!
We wanted to share an exciting opportunity for our East Irondequoit families with you! On November 5th, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing a free concert at Eastridge High School starting at 7:00pm. We were selected to host a concert for their Around the Town Series which brings their world class program to surrounding communities. This is a unique opportunity for students, families, and the surrounding community to experience the RPO in our town. This particular concert will be conducted by Andreas Delfs, who is a world-renowned composer and musical director for the orchestra.
Meet Mr. Bailey!
Hello, my name is Tom Bailey, School Social Worker at LP. I will be helping out here for the next few months every Tuesday. I would love the opportunity to chat and collaborate with you in supporting your child towards having the best school year ever! As we know, school can be a challenge for our children. If your child might be having some struggles with things like connecting with peers, managing emotions, school success, home difficulties or if you might be experiencing any family challenges, feel free to contact me. I am optimistic that together we can come up with some helpful ideas and strategies to benefit your child and family. Please contact me on my confidential phone or email and I will reach out to you as soon as possible.
I look forward to making a connection with you and your child!

Visitor Check-in!
We’re excited to share an update on our new mobile kiosks for visitor check-in across the district. These kiosks are designed to make the process faster and more secure for everyone entering our buildings.
To make check-in even easier, we encourage parents, guardians, and other visitors to download the Raptor Safe app on their mobile devices. This app allows users to:
· Scan their ID
· Take a selfie photo
· Generate a QR code for future visits
Once set up, visitors can simply open the app, swipe up to find their QR code, and scan it at the mobile kiosk. This will automatically print a badge using the photo on your license. If you plan to visit more than once this school year, we highly recommend downloading the app—it takes only a few minutes to set up and eliminates the need to scan your license and take a photo each time.
We’ve also implemented safety alerts. If someone flagged as not allowed entry attempts to check in, our main office staff and district safety personnel will be notified. In rare cases, false positives may occur. If this happens, staff may ask to scan your license at the front desk for further verification.
To help you get started, we’ve included: ·
Create Raptor Safe Passport
Using raptor visitor safe app at mobile kiosk
Feel free to share this information with other family members or caregivers who may be visiting the school.
Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe and efficient!
