Principal Update

Dear LP Families,

Have you ever heard the saying, "The month of May is the gateway to summer"? As an educator, this has always hit home. We are genuinely in the final stretch of school which means end-of-year assessments, celebrations, planning for the next school year and more! This time of year tends to bring about more unstructured opportunities and frequent changes to our daily schedule. While some students do just fine with this upheaval, many do not. Please continue to have conversations with your child about meeting expectations academically and behaviorally at school. Above all else, we need to maintain a safe learning environment which we take very seriously at LP. We appreciate your continued partnership and support.

Also, please note that NYS math testing takes place next week on Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7th. It will be important for your child to come to school on time and with a charged device. The kids have worked very hard this year and we are excited to have them show us what they know!

Finally, the district budget vote is quickly approaching and will take place on May 20th. Please keep scrolling for more important information!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Dr. Bello
