Welcome to November! I still can't believe the holiday season is upon us, especially with this beautiful weather. For our families who enjoy Halloween, I hope you had fun trick-or-treating with your kids. I am a huge fan of KitKats and Peanut Butter Cups...wink, wink! :) I have a few updates for today:
Absentee/Retake day is coming up! Inter-State/SLR Photography will be here on Nov 4, 2024, to photograph anyone that was absent on original day and retake those who are not satisfied with their original photo. Please be sure to send your original picture package back to the school with your child to give to the photographer when they go to the camera. If your child was absent on original day and you would like to pre-order a picture package, please see the online order info below. Proposed improvements at Laurelton-Pardee Intermediate School include:
Renovate and air condition the gymnasium and areas necessary to meet state temperature law expected to go into effect this year.
Improve playground safety by adding barriers to the sides that border the street and driveway.
IT upgrades to the network closets to ensure the integrity of the network.
Parents/caregivers can attend our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Parent Information Night on November 20 at 6:00pm to learn more about what the district is doing to teach our students to use AI tools safely and responsibly. There will be a short presentation by our Director of Technology, Christine Osadciw and Instructional Technology Coach, Andy Cripps. Following that, parents and caregivers will be able to ask any questions they have, as well as talk with community partners we have invited to set up tables all centered around helping families keep students safe in both the online and physical world.

We are proud to announce our first Fall PTA event! On November 8th, we are holding a Roller Skating party for LP students. Given the small space (LP gym) and the anticipated interest, we are going to hold two different sessions so that we can accommodate our families. Session 1 will go from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and session 2 will go from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Please choose a session time that works for you and RSVP as soon as possible. This event will be for LP students only, no siblings. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!
