Dear Ivan Green Families:

What a fun spirit week! The fun continues tomorrow with a parade, a carnival and a football game. We would love to have a BIG crowd of elementary students and families to walk in the short parade with us. If you can, join all the elementary schools in the transportation/operations center parking lot at 25 Kane Drive. The parade starts at 10:30 and ends right at the carnival spot. Come have some fun!

The cooler mornings means that many of us are wearing a layer to school. By the time students run around at recess, they tend to shed that outer layer. We end up with a lot of unclaimed clothing as a result. Please try to include your child's name on the tag of their outerwear so we can get it back to its rightful owner when it gets left behind.

 Ivan Green has received a generous donation of winter jackets from the St. Paul Boulevard Fire Department for families in need. We will be distributing these to students during our school Open House on October 3rd 6:30-7:30. A table in the cafeteria will be set up with various children’s coat sizes. This will be a first come, first serve distribution. We are thankful for this donation to help keep our Ivan Green students warm with the cold weather approaching! The East Irondequoit Educational Foundation is hosting a community garage sale on October 19 at the middle school. It runs from 10AM-3PM. Vendor spaces are available if interested. You can get more information at www.eastiron.org.

We had our first indoor recess this week, due to the rainy weather. There are a few pictures of that. Mr. Klossner is wearing his cape, as he and Miss Kane awarded their first round of gym class heroes!

Mrs. Suppa's second graders were dressed up for picture day and presenting to their classmates. Mrs. Suppa's class was also excited to see Mrs. Bohrer in the library.
