Dear Ivan Green Families:

This was another terrific week! One of the highlights was the celebration of Mr. Heartly's birthday! We had a party, complete with cookies! We also continued to read kindness chains on the Morning Show each week. It was such a fun way to celebrate kindness.

We have one more full week before a very short week. On Monday, November 25, our students will be dismissed at 12:15. If you pick-up by car, we will start loading cars at 12:05. We are closed in the afternoon and Tuesday, November 26 for parent teacher conferences. We hope to see everyone on those days!

Meet Murphy, Our Therapy Dog

Ms. DiMaria (one of our reading teachers) has recently certified her dog as an official therapy dog, and we are all so excited. She is going to introduce Murphy to each class over course of the rest of the month. She will bring him to school a couple of days a week.

Coming home to all families today is some information about Murphy and an opt-out form. If you would prefer your child NOT engage with Muphy, please complete the form and return it next week.

I am a mini poodle mix. I don't shed because I have hair, not fur. That makes me hypo-allergenic. I am 1.5 years old and weigh 11 pounds. I have lived with my mommy and daddy since May and love my new home. I have a dog brother named Rollie and sometimes he plays with me! Most of the time he just growls at me.

I love to play chase! Other things I like to do are play with Rollie, chew on my bones, work on training with my mommy.

Artificial Intelligence Parent Information Night

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Parent Information Night, November 20, 2024, 6pm, Eastridge High School. Babysitting Available, A short presentation followed by an opportunity for Q & As.

Parents/caregivers can attend our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Parent Information Night on November 20 at 6:00pm to learn more about what the district is doing to teach our students to use AI tools safely and responsibly. There will be a short presentation by our Director of Technology, Christine Osadciw and Instructional Technology Coach, Andy Cripps. Following that, parents and caregivers will be able to ask any questions they have, as well as talk with community partners we have invited to set up tables all centered around helping families keep students safe in both the online and physical world.
