Ivan Green Weekly Update

May 31, 2024

Welcome from Mr. Hiley

Dear Ivan Green Families:

You might be wondering who those BIG kids are to the right of this message. They are my kids, Micah and Eve, and I am sharing a picture of them in their sports clothes to recognize how tricky parenting can be at the end of the school year. Kids have more activities, the sun is setting later, and we seem to be trying to fit more into a single day. It is SO hard, but SO important, to try to stick to routines both at home and school. We know that kids thrive on routines and sleep. So, as tricky as it is, I am encouraging you to stick to you good bedtime routines so our little Lancers can come to school ready to be their best each day. If you are struggling to strike a balance at home, please contact Mrs. Zimber or Mrs. Estes for some support. They can help you set up some at-home routines that keep everyone happy and well-rested.

We are hopeful to see you all next week at our first ever FUN RUN fundraiser for the PTA. Our students are excited and ready to count their laps. Specific times and details are listed below. Please call our main office with any questions.

Sincerely,

Lucas Hiley, Ed.D.

Medication Pick-Up from Health Office

Medication pickup this year will be on June 25th and June 26th due to the last day of school being a Monday and Fun Day! I will send out reminders the week prior. If medication isn’t picked up by end of day on June 26th, it will be disposed of per New York State Safe Medication Disposal in Schools procedures. June is also a great month to contact providers for new medication orders, as they are good for 1 year and you will avoid the August/September rush, where paperwork tends to get lost
