Ivan Green Weekly Update

June 7, 2024

Welcome from Mr. Hiley

Dear IG Families:

This week of full of highs and lows.

The high was definitely the Fun Run. We are so lucky to have such devoted and organized physical education teachers. They braved the heat and the rain to pull of a wonderful event, which helped raise almost $2,000 for our PTA. Thank you to everyone who donated and to those who came in to enjoy the run themselves.

The low of the week is that today is Mrs. Collins' last day for the school year. She will undergo breast cancer surgery next week and then try to heal in record time so she can take in all the glory of her youngest son's graduation from high school. Mrs. Collins asked me to wish you all a wonderful a summer and to share a special "See you later!" to our second-grade families. She truly loves working with all of you! She anticipates a mid-summer return to the office. Please join us in wishing her a successful surgery and a speedy recover. For those of you who know Mrs. Collins and her spirit, she was honored at this week's faculty meeting with the Heart of Ivan Green award, fitting for her spirit and her dedication to everyone at Ivan Green.

Mrs. Bishop will be in the office with a variety of different helpers. We will do our best to be as quick and as chipper as Mrs. Collins!

Sincerely,
Lucas Hiley, Ed.D.
Principal

Medication Pick-Up from Health Office

Medication pickup this year will be on June 25th and June 26th due to the last day of school being a Monday and Fun Day! I will send out reminders the week prior. If medication isn’t picked up by end of day on June 26th, it will be disposed of per New York State Safe Medication Disposal in Schools procedures. June is also a great month to contact providers for new medication orders, as they are good for 1 year and you will avoid the August/September rush, where paperwork tends to get lost
