Ivan Green Weekly Update

April 12, 2024
Spring is Nature's Way of Saying Let's Party

Welcome from Mr. Hiley

Dear Families:

What a week! It was great seeing so many of you at our first Mini-Masters event. Thank you to everyone who attended and to Miss Kane and Mr. Klossner for making it happen. It was fun to watch our students' proficiency with golf develop leading up to the event. We hope you had fun, too!

If you are interested in helping plan our upcoming Teacher Appreciation Week, there is a planning meeting April 17 at 5:30 in the main office. No need to RSVP; you can just come.

Also, please remember that the schedule is different next week for our students. There is no school on Thursday or Friday for our UPK students. Our kindergarten through second grade students have a half day on Friday. Pick-ups will start leaving at 12:15, and buses will roll at 12:30. There will not be an Ivan Green newsletter next week.

There are some great pictures in this week's newsletter and a fun video from Mrs. Phillips. Be sure to check it all out.

Sincerely,
Lucas Hiley, Ed.D.
Principal

Input for Class Placement

We will be accepting written parent input over the next month, as we are preparing to build our classrooms for the 2024-2025 school year. We love hearing input from parents and guardians in terms of the best kind of classroom environment for your children.

We do NOT accept teacher recommendations. Please do not suggest or ask for a specific teacher.

Our goal is to build well-balanced classrooms. At this level, our classrooms have a range of learners, an even split of boys and girls, and we always aim to make sure each student transitions with at least one classmate from his/her previous class.

You can send me an email (lhiley@eastiron.org) by May 15 with your thoughts. We consider all of your input and apply as much as we feasibly can. We do take seriously suggestions for separation, so if you feel like it is time for your child to have a break from a specific classmate, you are welcome to share that with me.

Please be sure to share your thoughts in writing by May 15.
